Sailing Waters

Cwmbran Boating Lake, Llanfrechfa Way, NP44 8JE

The club meets to sail at Cwmbran Boating Lake, Llanfrechfa Way, NP44 8JE (weather permitting) every Sunday morning from 09.00 to 12.00, and on Wednesday from 13.00 to 16.00.

CMS also have permission on Wednesday to sail until close of park gates.

When the Council require to put the rowing boats on the lake, during school and bank holidays, we finish by 12.30 on Sundays and Wednesday sailing shall start at 18.00.

Cwmcarn Forest Lake, Cwmcarn Forest Drive, Newport NP11 7EX

As of June 2023, approval is granted for the use of the lake at Cwmcarn Forest.

Tickets for the carpark are available from the visitors centre.

Sailing can be carried out at any time in co-ordination with other users. At times the lake is used by young persons for organised adventure training activities. CMS have been asked to defer to these groups for their safety and the safety of the RC models. The west end of the pond has a small island and sluice which is best avoided.

No time restrictions apply so go and enjoy the waters.
