A teacher from Cwmbran is using his summer holidays to raise money for a school in South Africa by cycling around Wales
Brian Fisher, who teaches maths and science at Llantarnam school, is making the 400-mile trip for the Lehana Pass school, Eastern Cape.
The 50-year-old caught a train to Chester before cycling via Colwyn Bay, Portmeirion, Aberaeron and St David's.
Llantarnam pupils have already raised thousands for the Lehana Pass school.
"It is a week off and something different, and I am going to places I have never seen before," he said.
"They have no resources there - we are raising funds for books, pens and everything else."
'Raising money'
Other stops on Mr Fisher's trip have been Portmeirion, Tenby and Carmarthen.
Anne Phillips, who is charity co-ordinator at Llantarnam school, said the Lehana Pass school did not have electricity and water.
"We exchange ideas and work and we have been raising money for it," she said.
"We raised £2,500 last year and have already collected £500 this year."
