Communities First Thornhill

Welcome to Communities First Thornhill

Communities First LogoCommunities First is the Welsh Government's flagship programme to improve the living conditions and prospects for people in the most disadvantaged communities across Wales. Communities First aims to:

  • get local people involved in improving their areas and their own prospects
  • bring in funding and support from a range of sources to make things happen
  • make sure improvements last
  • encourage flexibility, risk-taking and new ways of dealing with problems
  • involve everyone working together to identify and do something about their community's problems.

Communities First works at the forefront of community development to help improve the quality of life and economic well being of people and local communities.

We work in close partnership with local grass roots communities, voluntary organisations, statutory agencies and funders to help develop and deliver wide ranging community programmes that bring social, economic and environmental benefits to local people in Thornhill.

Communities First's staff have extensive experience and proven expertise in working with wide ranging local communities and partnerships to provide the practical support, advice, guidance and project development skills to help enable local initiatives to become community reality.
